It is my desire to organize every smallholder farmer in Nigeria, promote proper training and education and graduate them from the traditional way of oil palm production of our forefathers to modern cultural production and processing methods. Unlike rice, maize, and other commodities that you harvest within a year, investment in oil palm is an investment for the future not for immediate benefit, but for that of the generations yet unborn. The oil palm that we are enjoying today is the one that our fathers/forefathers planted for us. If you travel around this country, you will discover that we are not even taking very good care of the plantations because it is capital and labor-intensive to run and maintain. There is no better time than now for our younger generation to take over, improve and move the oil palm ecosystem to the next level. I want to encourage all the Nigerian youths to see agriculture as the only way out of the woods for this great nation. Under my leadership, OPGAN will continue to provide knowledge to our teaming members through research, training, local capacity building, fair market share, leadership and impetus for the development of highly improved, value-added, globally competitive and sustainable oil palm industry for Nigeria. For better organization, we have physical presence/offices in all the 27 State capitals of the federation which fall into the Oil Palm Belt. We will work hard to provide access to market for our members and improve their general wellbeing/income.
